Birds Of A Feather (BOAF) Al-Anon!
Birds of a Feather International was formed in response to the need for meeting places for PILOTS and COCKPIT crew members where the subject of addiction to alcohol might be discussed with impunity and anonymity.
Birds of a Feather, BOAF Al-Anon was founded in 2022 by a group of Aviation Family community members who recognized the need for an organization dedicated to helping family individuals. Since then, we have grown into a thriving group, serving a network of individuals each year.
This Al-Anon group of the Birds of a Feather has been established to address the special needs of family members of pilots whose lives have been affected by alcoholism. BOAF Al-Anon is also valuable to help our sober pilot members who are parents of alcoholics or are adult children of alcoholics.
BOAF Al-Anon recognizes the unique pressures of an aviation family. Therefore, we meet to provide a forum where both recovery and problems peculiar to aviation families can be discussed with impunity.

"The 'Birds of a Feather' Al-Anon group is a supportive community specifically designed to address the unique challenges faced by individuals dealing with the addiction of pilots. This group provides a safe and understanding environment where members can share their experiences, gain insights, and find solace in knowing they are not alone. Through regular meetings, participants can explore effective coping strategies, learn from others who have faced similar situations, and build a network of support that fosters healing and recovery. The group emphasizes the importance of mutual support and understanding, recognizing the distinct pressures and stresses associated with the aviation industry and how they can impact both the pilots and their loved ones. By fostering open communication and empathy, the 'Birds of a Feather' Al-Anon group aims to empower its members to navigate the complexities of addiction with resilience and hope."
